NOLA recs please (food and other)

Friend heading there tomorrow. Asked me for recommendations because I went to LSU a million years ago. 
They are staying in the Quarter on Orleans Street but would not mind getting to other places.
Here is what I have so far based on this board over the years:
Commander’s Palace
Emeriil’s
Herbsaint
Peche
August
Parkway
Café’ Du Monde
WWII Museum
Audubon Park
Ride the streetcars uptown
P.S. I did a search. The search function on this site sucks.

No. That is why I'm getting some thoughts. I told them NOLA was a reservation focused town.

Is there a certain part of town they're looking to eat in or does location not matter?
All the restaurants you mentioned plus Shaya, Campare Lapin, La Petite Grocery, Coquette. Atchafalaya for brunch!

Good suggestion. They can get crawfish at Bayou Beer/Wine Garden during the day as well.
I'd skip Emeril's.
Compere Lapin and Shaya are great suggestions, but getting into Shaya on short notice is virtually impossible.

Commander's for Sat or Sun jazz brunch. Check out the cemetery across the street.
Galatoire's for dinner for some traditional old New Orleans food.
Peche for lunch or dinner.
Cafe du Monde for a snack or breakfast.
I don't necessarily think a trip to Parkway would be high on my list for a short trip.
Don't know how many meals they have or whether they're there on Friday lunch/dinner and/or Sunday lunch/dinner.
Have they been to New Orleans before?

Peche for lunch or dinner.
Felix's for raw oysters (stand at the bar because they shuck 'em for you right in front of you), Drago's for char grilled.
Someone mentioned Stanley. I love the food there but there's usually a very long wait (frequently over an hour) and they don't take reservations.
If by some chance they're into loud metal music, check out the top floor of the Dungeon on Fri or Sat night. It's a very interesting place.

I agree it's a fun mid afternoon place to go. Last two times I went for lunch, I had reservations, but didn't need them. That was on a Monday and a Friday.
Sent some folk from NY there a few weeks ago. They went for a late dinner one night and liked it so much, they went for lunch the next day.
