So, I am going out with this girl on Friday night. We don't have anything set in stone, but I would prefer to do something such as a casual dinner, followed by a low key and laid back bar so we can talk. Keep in mind, this is the first official date. So I don't want to go anywhere too fancy, and I don't want someplace too loud that we have to shout to speak.

For some reason, I'm drawing total blanks, which is pathetic. Suggestions anyone?

Jamila's for dinner, followed by the Delachaise for drinks. You are welcome.

For restaurants, consider La Boca, Rio Mar, or Matt and Naddies.

For bars, both Bulldog locations might work. Maybe DBA if you get there before the bands get rocking. The bar attached to Antoines is nice and probably quite if you want to step it up some.

Ages: I'm 30 and she is 28.

Locations: I am honestly open to anywhere. I live in Mid-City/Lakeview, and she lives in Metairie.

Susan Spicer has a new place on Harrison called Mondo. You could eat there and then drink at Lakeview Harbor or the Bulldog if you wanted to keep it simple.
There is also a sushi place out at West End across the street from Russels Marina Grill.

Crepe Nanou, then go a few blocks away and have drinks at Cure.

Since you live in lakeview/mid city take her to Parasols or the Bulldog and convince her to stay at your place because you dont feel comfortable driving to Metairie after youve had a drink imo.

keep it PG on the first date. Brocatos, creole creamery, etc. If you really like her, there is no need to knock it out on the first date.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm leaning towards Jamila's or Le Crepe Nanou. Speakin of Lola's - they are serving wine now, correct?

Don't do Crepe Nanou on a first date. It's a little too much. Glass drilled it, go to Jamilla's.

Baru on Magazine is very casual and laid back - not to pricey. Good location to grab a drink somewhere after as well.

Good one

She would see straight through that if she has a brain. And if she doesn't, then you would probably be getting lucky on your date night.

Take her to Bulldog on Canal.
