My favorite as well. It's fairly small OP. Mansurs is good too.

I'm partial to Ruffino's, but there's plenty of great options:
Roberto's
Louisiana Lagniappe
Gino's
Sushi Yama
Mason Lacour
Beausoleil

If you don't mind traveling outside of BR to Gonzales, this is an excellant location in the plantation home.

Plenty of places named already, but two of my favorites would be Eliza and Beausoleil.

Neither would classify as "fine dining" but both deliver high end meals with a nice atmosphere

It gets way more hate than it deserves but Tsunami downtown is very good imo.

Their raw app menu is great. Atmosphere and view also.

Make a reservation now if youre planning for a Friday/Saturday dinner

Nailed it on the first response.

My only issue with them for a romantic dinner date is that it's completely lit up bright as day in there at night. I haven't been there in a few years so it might've changed but I always thought that was weird. Best restaurant in BR otherwise.

Are you referencing the food? Or the atmosphere?

Umami, as mentioned, puts out some of the most impressive food in the city and you can easily drop some coin there. But if she's not a foodie or she only orders crunchy rolls, all she's going to see is that you're taking her to eat sushi in a strip mall.

Ruffino's is the inverse, for example. One of the best atmospheres in town, but the food is only okay.

Maison Lacour has outstanding food and feels fairly upscale, but I'd recommend going on a busier night. I went on a Thursday and we were one of only two tables the entire night. It was as lit up as a grocery store and extremely silent.
