I’m going to cook my black-eyed pea and sausage stuffed cabbage rolls and I’m also considering a prime rib.

We will probably catch the football game in a bar so maybe a burger or wings there for lunch.

When we get home, I'm slow cooking a pork loin smothered in sauerkraut, and will serve with field peas and snaps (I hate black eyed peas and apparently purple hulls haven't made it up to this part of the country) and crescent rolls.

For the first time this year, we did a turkey for Christmas. Yesterday, I took the carcass and made a turkey stock with it.

Going to take some of the turkey meat and that stock and do a turkey and andouille gumbo this weekend for New Years. Supposed to snow all weekend so it will be the perfect weather for it.

I've been down in BR for the last week or so with the family, so I missed all the Christmas snow (well, I still got to drag my suitcase through it on my way home from the T, but that sucked).

This is my first winter living here so I still get excited by the snow and I haven't gotten to see it since the first one a few weeks ago. I want to drink cocktails and watch it fall. It's pretty!

Well it looks like I jinxed you. It looks like the snow won’t be happening. Going to be too cold for it to snow.

Don’t worry, I get the feeling you’ll have plenty of chances to see it snow here this winter. I get the feeling it’s going to be a bad one. Last year was very mild.

Stay warm this week - going to be single digits for a while. Welcome to Boston winters!
