The pizzeria is the first restaurant venture from Gabe Corchiani, who was a basketball player at the University of New Orleans and is a member the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

The menu is still being developed for Fat Boy's Pizza, which will sell slices along with whole pies. The restaurant will also offer craft beer and have plenty of televisions for watching games.

So basically Mo's? Isn't big pizza their thing, too?

Passed by the location today while driving down Metairie road. The signage is obnoxious and looks out of place for Metairie Road. Hope it doesn’t jam up the light at Labarre and will be interesting with parking. It’s already a cluster with Shipley’s.

30” is a large fricking pizza. Would think the length of pieces might be problematic. I love NY pizza and there is a not really good options outside of Pizza D here which is far away, so I hope it’s great despite the ridiculous gimmick and will give it a shot.

Tell them baws to go to the corner of Hammond Hwy and Lake Ave across from Station 6. They would kill it there.

They would indeed. That’s a great space on the surface. Something has to be up with it for a successful restaurateur not to have jumped on it. Think I heard the proprietors were a bit nutty
Something good will go there one day

That sign seems way out of place in Old Metairie. Seems like something you’d see on Bourbon Street or Panama City Beach.

Rent is on the higher end and the owner is not great, but he is more indifferent than anything from what I hear. The main obstacle thus far though seems to be prestige. Popular chefs don't want to open in Metairie or even Lakeview for the most part, but at the same time a generic restaurant is not going to survive. Station 6 took a gamble opening a nicer restaurant in Bucktown and they knocked it out the park. That area is prime for another one. It draws a customer base from multiple areas and unlike along W Harrison, it has ample parking available.

Not surprised since the owner with the culinary skills split from the resturaunt.

I grew up around Bucktown/Lakeview. No restaurant has ever survived in that particular location for any length of time except I believe Carmine's was there for awhile.
What Lakeview needs is a Vietnamese place. I can't believe there is nothing on Harrison or REL yet.

If he's responsible for that ridiculous sign then he should've stuck to TV.
I love good "New York style" pizza, but this seems gimmicky as hell.

That is a lame graphic.
If I'm in Old Metairie I'm going to Mark Twain's for pizza. I love the Innocents Abroad.
