I've been wondering which ones will be able to open at 25%. I've seen a few restaurants elsewhere say they can't open for indoor dining like this. By the time they have their staff inside, the number of patrons is even more limited. One place said that with the necessary staff, they could only use 6 tables and maybe less if you count the folks coming inside to get to go orders. When the 25% includes staff, it cuts into customers numbers.

Rum House Baton Rouge just announced its closure. I’m wondering how the one on Magazine will fare in the next couple of months.

Places like this, Clancy's, and other loved local places can probably charge a seating fee or something to help cover expenses since they probably can't make much with the restrictions.

Probably the ones doing takeout. Any additional diners mean additional money.

The ones who were doing killer takeout like Blue Oak, Bevi, and Blue Giant don't seem to be opening actually

Did they get the small business loan? Granted, BR is another world from New Orleans in all of this, but that seems to be the factor here. If they're already doing takeout and they're already forced to have 75% of the loan going to staff payroll, there's nothing to lose by doing dine-in service.

Plus, for those are only paying employees the minimum for the loan, it gives the employees a chance to make tips to supplement the income.

However, I can see why a takeout place that doesn't have loan money would stay takeout only. They can run on a skeleton crew and turn at least some semblance of a profit doing takeout - not so much if they have to get staff in for sit-down dining.

Just saw that Mid City Yacht Club will have the boathouse and the outdoor areas open on Saturday. That’s where I think I’m headed

That's awesome news.

I have reservations at Compere Lapin for saturday even though they haven't even announced they are open yet, and at Peche on the 30th.

I may try and get Costera if CL doesn't announced by tomorrow.

Have eaten here 3 times. Don't get the hype. One of the biggest letdowns for a new restaurant after it had endlessly been hyped.

I have heard that from other people and have not gone due to those opinions.

Agreed - its expensive for what it is, and frankly not even as good as 5 Happiness.

Blue giant just isn’t meant to be served as take out imo

Going to try it again but mine was just ok

This is what I am hoping for. Haven't written it off, but I would choose Red's over Blue Giant if I am in the mood for expensive chinese food.
