Man. I like Red’s. I like Blue Giant. Have eaten inside both and done BG takeout.

Blue Giant, in my opinion is WAY way better than Reds and I’ve always liked Reds.

I thought Giant was very good

It’s expensive but that’s just where we are in today’s age, especially anywhere on Magazine

Wrong Iron is opening at 3:00 tomorrow and will function like a restaurant. You have to order food to drink.

I really want to go, but I can't imagine what the line will look like and it's not like it will move fast.
Maybe next weekend.

I saw them putting fences up wrapping around the building and figured something was up.

Also..what food? They don't have a kitchen.

You must order from one of the food trucks?

Pretty silly and not enforceable.

Yes. I'm just glad they were able to work it out to where they could open up. I bet their permit doesn't meet the correct criteria. They have deep enough pockets and such so they may have paid someone off.

that means the breweries should be able to open on the same premise.

I agree, but the nimrods in charge have no common sense.

Here's an article on some of the old line restaurants reopening plans.

Looks like Commander's is tentatively scheduling patio dining only in June. That just seems odd to me.

I know Turkey and the Wolf is not this board's favorite, but Mason wrote an op-ed for Bon Appetit that mentions a lot of the things we've discussed here.

quote:

Unemployment from the federal government is $600 a week, plus whatever your state offers. In Louisiana, that adds up to $847 a week. For some restaurant workers, going back to work could mean making less than unemployment. A lot of businesses I’m talking to are committed to matching unemployment because not doing that just sucks.

It’s not the employees’ fault that there is a better financial option for them than returning to work. I’m glad there is one. But it just presents a unique issue with the bill, which was meant to get people off unemployment. No one wants to take a pay cut to go back to work and risk their health.

quote:

So you’re asking them, please come back to work to make takeaway meals or help with upkeep of the restaurant, maybe take a pay cut, and, at the end of eight weeks, we don’t know if you will have a job for two reasons. Either we won’t be ready to open, so you’re going to be laid off again and have to fight your way back through the unemployment system. Or we’ll be ready to open, but because of future mandates saying we can only operate at a limited capacity, some jobs won’t be available. That’s a raw deal for the staff.

Picked up from Piece of Meat yesterday. Order online and they bring it out to your car. They are serving their sandwiches as well. I got Denver cut wagyu from Rayville, LA, some ribeyes, boudin, salami and some chickens

First time trying a Denver cut. Reminds me of a hangar

They have the best boudin in the city as well
