Quickie anniversary trip to New Orleans next month. Already planning to eat at Cochon Butcher for lunch Friday.
The places I have written down for dinner Friday are: Herbsaint, Bayona, Patois, or SoBou. I'm also open to any other suggestions.
Thanks!

Thanks! Looks great, but I constantly eat Greek (I'm sure it's nowhere near this level though, lol).

Herbsaint is the best that you listed but balise would be a better choice (when we've been it's either great food and terrible service or terrible food and great service, so you have a fighting chance)

That was your problem at Herbsaint or Balise?

Skip SoBou.

I would do Herbsaint.

i dont think Balise is a good anniversary restaurant.

Herbsaint easily trumps it.

We're going to have brunch Saturday. I'm looking at: Cafe Adelaide, Apolline, Atchafalya, Dante's Kitchen, or La Petit Grocery. I'm leaning La Petit Grocery. Any thoughts on these or other suggestions?

Atchafalaya gets high praise on here. Id say Adelaide would be my last choice.

Cant go wrong with any of the others though.

Atchafalaya is my #1. But LPG is great.

I'm perfectly aware of that, in fact, this is probably my third time asking about Nola restaurant recs since I started posting. I just know that places sort of come and go, so to speak, there. Also, since I had specific places in mind, I thought it would be easier just to have people look over my choices.
I'm sorry my post annoyed you.

Someone is touchy today.

I hear Herbsaint is fantastic, but the only from your list I've been to is Patois--which has a great brunch.

That said, Atchafalaya is my #1 brunch. Reservations fill up fast.

Commanders is great for an anniversary dinner.

If they still have the upside down peach bourbon cake for dessert, get it. Actually get two. Don't share. It's that good.

Is Commanders the only restaurant in New Orleans you have been to? You recommend it in every thread.

No, but it is my favorite, especially for special occasions such as anniversary.

Thank you for paying such close attention to me. That's adorable.

Herbsaint is pretty much "can't miss".

LaPetite Grocerie and Atchafalaya are both perfect for brunch, imo.

We went to Herbsaint late last year. I'd go tonight if I could. Great meal.
