Have a short trip coming up and our eating itinerary:

1. Shaya (dinner)
2. Commander’s (dinner)
3. Chop House (dinner)
4. SukhoThai (lunch)
5. Tableau (lunch)
6. Willa Jean’s (breakfast)

Recommendations on must haves?

Any input appreciated.

Chop house is pretty standard. Have to go to a steakhouse or something.

Tableau absolutely blows in my opinion.

Shaya everything is good. Get whichever hummus appeals to you.

Wife wants a steak one night and it’s the only one I havent eaten at down there.

I’ve never had food at Tableau. Just drinks. Hate to see that. Suggested sub? Was looking for a good drink place with sights and decent food for that day at lunch.

There are people on here that like it for some reason and I’m sure will be in here soon.

It’s just very average tourist food. At best. Sights are good though.

Agreed and I would keep Commander's on the list

I’d add Cochon as well.

Had dinner at The Chloe this weekend, and it was top notch. The space is gorgeous, and the food was awesome.

Also checked out the new Hotel Saint Vincent for cocktails. Didn't eat in the restaurant since we had just eaten. That is THE. SPOT. to be right now. It was really fun and packed, in a good way.

Blue giant in the lower garden. It’s comfort Chinese. There’s a ton of bars within walking distance. It’s a small hole in the wall style place. Idk if that’s what you’re looking for.

Birdy is down the road (like 200 feet) Go get the brunch board for breakfast one day.

Don’t like Tableau either. Great location but the food & service are bleh. An outlier for most Brennan spots

If you want to stay in the FQ

Justine
Cafe Amelie
Cane & Table (sat/sun only open for lunch)

Don’t like suko Thai either

If you want to stay on magazine, check out these 2 new offerings

Cho Thai

Or

Long Chim Nola (pop up, take out only)

I’ll just add this. Almost every restaurant in the city serves a steak. And probably in every city, save a vegetarian or vegan restaurant. If your wife wants a steak take her to Peche and order the rib eye for two. Or La Boca. Or Galatoires.

Had drinks at the Chloe on Saturday, it was a great place. We hit up Shaya afterwards for dinner. Food was great, server was knowledgeable…. But dude disappeared on us several times. That freakin pita is insane!

Was kind of pissed that Blue Giant quit doing take out!
have a friend who lives in the channel and if you can survive the pot holes/craters in the street it can be a fun area. We stay there at decent amount and would kill blue giant after day drinking during all the COVID shite.

We also went to Meil for the first time. It’s a cool space.

Sylvain is next door, I’d go there if looking to stay in the area.

I gotta say that Tartine in the Audubon area really impressed us. We stopped there on a whim needing a lunch spot, and it was really, really good. Pretty cheap too for the quality of food.
