New Era at Andrea's

It was announced today that Chef Andrea is selling his restaurant but will still have a limited involvement for the foreseeable future. I have been going there since day one and it has always been one of my favorites in Jefferson Parish.
My favorite Chef Andrea story:
We had dinner there one night about six years ago the week before we were scheduled to leave for a trip to the Amalfi Coast. When the Chef came to the table to talk to us, we asked him for restaurant recommendations. He came back a few minutes later with a stack of cards, some for restaurants in Italy, and some with his picture on them on which he wrote in Italian "Please take care of my good friends from New Orleans".
We went to one of the restaurants in Capri and twice we went to one in the Town of Amalfi which were owned by good friends or family members of Andrea's. When the people saw the cards, their faces lit up and we were given the red carpet treatment. It was a wonderful experience.
I wish Andrea well in his semi retirement.

i was introduced to him at lunch at andrea's the week i started at the royal orleans. from then on, for decades, he would recognize me when i came in no matter how infrequently and set me up like the king of england
and he did that for just about anyone no matter their station

First Tom Fitzmorris is unwell and now this?

Food was terrible and overpriced. Had a weak moment about six months ago and decided to give it a another try, following which I (again) vowed to never return. And his faux charm in acting like the customer is his long lost best friend was ridiculous. Not going to miss that place one bit.

I can appreciate this entire take.

That's been the case for a while now.

The reviews are really weak, I was wondering when someone was going to chime in about this place. I guess he has a few favorites and the place has been slipping otherwise.
Wish I would've tried it at least once, but whatever.

That place has been terrible lately. Glad it is changing.
