With zero expectations, I will try it out.

I'm assuming it will go over as well as the rest of their IPA's.

Hop On was acceptable.

Hop on isn’t as good as Jucifer, Juciee or Holy Roller. But it’s pretty good.

I don't see the point of "light" IPAs. I drink IPAs for the taste. If I want a less caloric beer I will drink something else.

I enjoy a very hoppy beer, but don't always enjoy the 7-12% alcohol. My favorite "all day ipa" is JUCO by Good People here in Bham. Tastes like a hop bomb, but with a 4-4.5% abv.

99 calories, 2.7 carbs, 4.2%
interesting

Had one last night from a buddy who has a connection there. If you've had any of the others in the new "Light IPA" category (i.e. Slightly Mighty from Dogfish Head or Lagunitas Daytime), I'd say it's better than those two.
Guessing it's for craft drinkers who can't drink juicebomb DIPA, 9-12%s all damn day long whether for the sake of not blacking out or cutting some calories.
I'd bet on this category not going away for awhile.

This is exactly it. Hoppier than a pale ale, but not a double IPA with the high ABV.

What's the difference between a Light IPA and a Session IPA? Nothing?
I might try this once or twice but I if I want an inexpensive session IPA, I'll reach for Founders All-Day IPA.

you're still getting 147 calories with all-day IPA. I really hope this is good, as I've been wanting a beer like this. If I'm trying to lose weight and cut calories it's pretty tough to justify Jucifer or Holy Roller at 180 calories each

The new Abita Light has similar carbs/calories to a Michelob Ultra; I appreciate what they're doing these days.

It's definitely got the hoppy smell and it's not your traditional pale ale/IPA taste (drank cold out of the can).
It's hard to describe, but I see what they're trying to do.
If I'm hitting it all day long, I'd probably do a few Jucifers or DDH commotions, then coast on these.

It was mentioned above but I think the Slightly Mighty from Dog Fish Head is excellent.

Session IPA focuses on lower ABV.
Light focuses on calories, carbs, etc.

It's just a brand new category and I wouldn't even compare it to All-Day IPA.
It's in the same one as Slightly Mighty and Daytime IPA, but Lagunitas DayTime is just bad in my opinion.

Just stumbled on the Hop 99 in Rouses today.
I've been trying to low carb my life, but beer is my weakness. Heck, is Miller Lite even worth the 97 calories? Probably not, but I like beer!
I developed a like for Hop On over the last 6 months. It's a good every day beer to me. Not as good as Ghost of course, but a nice bittery beer at a reasonable price.
Hop 99 is just a notch below the Hop On, but 99 calories vs. 192 calories.
Certainly a beer that you could drink a handful of and still do many things that require motor skills without getting too much fatter.
Give it a shot if you haven't!
