Haven't been there in a while but The Camp under the hill in Natchez was good the last time I went. Also, I hear Pearl St. Pasta in Natchez is pretty good too.

I stopped at a gas station in Feriday and purchased a diet Dr. Pepper, Diet Sprite and a bag of peanut M&Ms. Both were outstanding. That is all I can help with. You know what? I think we had a nice bag of Ranch Doritos, too. They were also first rate and helped us make the road trip up the river on 568 to Spokane, 570 to the greater Waterproof Metropolitan area, 65 to Goldman, Locust Ridge, Lake Bruin, Newellton, and finally Richmond, on I-20 just below Tallulah.

I am certain we missed a few excellent dining opportunities along our way. However, those things sometimes happen when one does not purchase a Fodor's travel guide for the Feriday to Tallulah corridor.

Magnolia Grill
Rolling River Bistro

Both are ok. Roux 61 if you just want Walk Ons/Sammy’s type food.

There's nothing really outstanding in Natchez, but these will get you through:

Magnolia Grill Shrimp and grits, Ask to sit in the back room, bleu cheese burger, fried green tomatoes topped with crawfish in a cajun sauce. Fried pickle appetizer, bloody marys.

To step back in history: Malt Shop Frito pie, malts, vanilla cokes,

King's Tavern Flatbreads, shrimp and grits, Natchez Upscale

For Breakfast Tuesday: Nikki's Restaurant (Vidalia) Buffet style, or can order off the menu.

Always heard good things about their small plates and cocktails.

I haven't been there in years, but this is where we had our rehearsal dinner years ago. I was coming here to recommend.

Magnolia Grill and Roux 61. I've been wanting to try the restaurant that is attached to Stanton Hall called The Carriage House, but it looks like it's only open for lunch.

And an apple fritter.

Used to go to Bowie’s Tavern on Saturdays and eat burger stuff and whisky when at the camp .
It was VERY LSU friendly then. I’m assuming it’s still open?

I went to Bowie's about a year ago. It was very late and the only thing open.
