Posted the below on the Travel Board, but haven't gotten many responses, so I figured I'd try here.

I searched, but didn't find much in the way of recent threads or posts addressing the questions below.

Group of a dozen women roughly age 25 headed there and staying in the Palm Cay area. Looking for a few lively places to eat and a fun place to go out one of the nights. Needless to day, they are looking for safe venues.

Any help will be appreciated. I've already seen plenty of negative posts about Nassau, but this is a done deal, so those will not be helpful.

I'm sure there's some restaurants at the Atlantis resort (that's in Nassau, right?)

I can't imagine there's much else there.

With this group you are asking the wrong question here.

You want a safe, easy, accessible place for them to have a fun evening. Food is really secondary. A group of women that age are a PITA to deal with food wise.

I would highly suggest the "Tru Bahamian Food Tour" on their first or second day. With a dozen ladies, they could have their own group. It's not expensive and was a fun experience last time the wife and I stayed at Atlantis. They will bring you to the Bahamian Kitchen for conch fritters, Greycliff and their chocolatier (sp?), a cool little greek restaurant, a rum shop, etc... Its a great way to separate the authentic, local spots from the tourist traps.

And they will tell you about other places to try as you walk around. The ladies can plan the next few days based on their recommendations and other interesting spots they see.

The Arawak Cay Fish Fry area has some good food shops/trucks and is a good place to bar hop. Though be prepared for pushy merchants selling crap.

The Atlantis/Paradise Island area has several good restaurants, but just be prepared to pay out of the arse. It's just stupid expensive as soon as you cross the bridge to paradise island. Like, REALLY expensive!

The big casino resorts are your best bet for a good place to go out that’s safe

Food-wise during the day the Fish Fry area has some good food. Fried conch sandwich is a specialty. Don’t get the conch salad though, it’s like straight conch and onions

Nothing special downtown. I agree with those saying it’s a tourist trap. They do have a chocolatier that the poster above me mentioned, and there’s a couple places to shop that had good deals. But mostly not worth going to

We stayed at grand Hyatt Baha mar. Plenty of delicious restaurants, a nice piano bar, big casino and clubs

I stayed at the grand hyatt this summer...the rooms were reasonably priced HOWEVER the resturants on site cost a fortune.....the food is ok nothing great but the prices are very expensive
The resort is very nice just be prepared for the very high priced food...
Overall the Bahamas and Nassau were nothing special...resort was very nice great beaches and beautful clear water....but there are other options out there that are much better

Atlantis is a cool place to go. Absolutely safe and 5 or so good restaurants to choose from in the casino complex.

The One and Only Ocean Club is a 6-7 minute taxi ride from Atlantis The restaurant is awesome and there is a bar out over the water pot have a few cocktails. This is where the money in Nassau goes out for dinner. Need reservations. The poker scene in Casino Royals was filmed there.

Curlys, just down from big cruise ship docks s a good bar with great food. About a mile from bridge from Nassau to Paradise Island.

Like someone above said the Casinos are generally the best for groups of women. For the most part downtown is a shithole tourist trap and safer to avoid at night.

Go sit at the bar and order dinner at The One and Only. Best meal in the Bahamas.

Also, if you have a bulletproof vest on, the conch salad stands under the Paradise Island bridge are amazing.

As others said, Atlantis (take them to Nobu). Also, bar at One and Only. Tell them to bring their 25 year old check books.

About 15 minutes west of Paradise Island bridge is a little hotel on the water that has a cool bar/restaurant over the water. Compass Point. Very small and cool vibe.

ETA: Gris, you would really, really like Greycliff for drinks/great glass of wine and dinner. It's high end, has the biggest wine list in the world...so not sure if you can talk them in to it. If you do, request the private wine room. It's incredible.

Unless you’re porting on a cruise liner, going to Nassau is not how you do Bahamas. Is it to late to change the trip to the Exumas
