How do you know what it tastes like if you haven't tried it? That's what the OP's wife and the toddlers of the world do.
If you don't like it, sure, there's plenty of stuff I don't like, but I'll at least try it.

Sure they are. I'm not a fan of them unless they are cooked down and chopped very small. Not everyone has the same likes.

Why is it mostly white trash and country people who don’t like off the path food and eat well done meat with ketchup?
My ex's family was like this, but they immigrated here after growing up in the Soviet Union. They never ate big pieces of meat alone on a plate. It was always a small component of a larger dish because meat was hard to get. I'm assuming there was no Soviet FDA either so cooking the shite out of it helped protect you from getting sick.
My point is historically it has taken a certain amount of wealth to be able to eat a large steak by itself and cooked properly without concerns for safety.

OP said she'd try stuff. Give her a break even if she likes ruined food

I can empathize. My wife isn't an adventurous eater and has some pretty bad food preferences. She will rarely even eat steak, or really any good cut of meat. She really only eats something with ground beed(burgers, chili, spaghetti, etc) and chicken breasts, and that's about it.
Can't get her into a Thai restaurant even though I've cooked some Thai food she's loved. Did get her into a Vietnamese restaurant once, and she liked the spring rolls, but that was about it. Only eat sweet & sour chicken at any Chinese restaurant.

I already said she'll try stuff. I get her to try everything I cook or order.
Making statements and coming to conclusions on people without knowing all the facts is what uneducated people do. That's childish.

Well, do you have a temp probe, and can she read? Because you can educate her on "safe" temps for different meats.
She knows it's ok, she just doesnt find the look or texture appealing cause her senses are telling her it's not.

My wife don't eat seafood..only real struggle is most seafood places shitty options outside of seafood so I don't go to my favs as much as I'd like
She enjoys her steak cooked correctly though.....she ain't THAT bad

Never understood the need for others to get so upset over another persons eating choices. I admit that in my house i am the one who doesnt eat seafood.
Here is the way i see it. I dislike seafood but that dislike means my SO gets to enjoy my share. If you love seafood, how could you dislike someone who offers you all of their unwanted seafood.
Before i eat my gumbo, shrimp pasta or other such things, i pick the shrimp ,crawfish, etc out of my bowl. So my SO gets double the seafood in their bowl, a lifetime supply of it!
Truly it is a win/win for both of us.

You’re a low maintenance picky eater. Most picky eaters I know won’t simply remove the offending items; they want their own special meal.
Put another way, if we are doing a shrimp boil, I don’t want to have to worry about grilling you a hotdog.

I always take into account what my guests likes and dislikes are when hosting friends. Seems kinda weird not to.

So do I. They asked why people care about their eating preferences. I explained. Will I grill them a hotdog? Sure. Is it a mild annoyance? Yep.

I don’t give a shite what someone else likes or doesn’t like, but cooking and eating and sharing the same foods with my SO is important to me. So it would be no hard feelings.. but it would just a major incompatibility.
One of our best friends doesn’t eat seafood, so I always have other stuff. I never make just one food anyway. Another friend is married to a Jewish woman, so when they come in from Israel, I always make sure there’s plenty of pork-free dishes.
That said, if it were something specific like a fish fry or a crawfish boil, there’s less chance to make special accommodations entree wise and they’ll just have to fill up on finger foods.

Exactly. I will happily eat everything else from a good crawfish boil and have free hands to be able to peel crawfish for my SO or for a lil ones who cant peel them.
I dont want my pickiness to be a downer or burden for whoever is cooking. Id rather it be seen as something that i can turn into a positive for everyone.
