Haven't tried it. I'll keep an eye out for it.

2. 2014 Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cabernet Sauvignon Excellent wine, outstanding value. Even better than the 2013. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc. A smooth, supple version of Cabernet Sauvignon. 91 points from Wine Spectator. About $12

Shouldn't this be called a blend?

I believe to label something as a certain varietal, you have to have at least 75% of that varietal in the blend. So in the case above you questioned, no. It can be labeled a Cab Sav rather than a blend.

I may be mistaken on the percentage, and other countries may vary on this. That's just my basic understanding.

Costco has a Pine Ridge Viognier/Chenin Blanc White that goes for about $14. It is my go to white. I buy it by the case. All the time.

It is a Bordeaux blend. I think that's typical of a lot of cabs.

My gf's favorite wine. I like it too. Any suggestions for something similar to this stuff?

Thoughts on the casillero so Diablo?

It's a favorite of mine. But I realize that doesn't make it good.

I'm normally a big fan of the Casillero del Diablo wines from Concha y Toro. Both the cabernet sauvignon and the carmenere are usually very good wines at great prices. However, I tried the 2014 cab this year and it was horrible. Not sure if they had an off year or if I just got a bad bottle.

4. 2014 Bogle Essential Red A blend of Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Sirah. Not quite as good as the 2013 version, but still delicious, light (13.5% alcohol), and can be found most anywhere for under $10. This is another one to buy by the case.

i'm a huge fan of this
great job on this list!

Hmmm, I don't remember trying any boxed wines in 2016. I remember trying one in 2015 that I liked, but i don't remember the name of it. Are there any in particular that you like?

Leaving Martin now and they had the 2013's. I'm giving it a try based on your rating, and I'll keep my eyes open for some 2014's somewhere

The 2013 was very good. If it was stored properly at Martins I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Veramonte Primus "the blend" has been a staple for me at about $16.

Love that wine, and Chilean wines in general. Didn't try it this year, though, so it didn't make the list.
