Are there any groceries, shelf stable or frozen, that you like to bring home after a trip to NOLA? Things like central grocery muffuletta salad or hubigs pies

My late brother-in-law, who lived right outside Atlanta would visit N.O. and stay with us and his go-to items to bring back to Ga. were:

CDM Coffee & Chicory
Andouille from Bailey's in Laplace
An ice chest of fresh shrimp
A muffeletta from Central Grocery
And as much of my homemade chicken/andouille/okra gumbo I'd let his scoop from my freezer.

You can mix and match a dozen Hubigs pies on their website for $60 shipping included. I had some sent to my friend in CA.

Every time I see Hubig's pies it reminds me of my late brother-in-law that lived outside Atlanta but grew up in Chalmette. For some reason he always called them "Hubbies".

He was crushed when Hubig's opened up after Katrina, only to burn to the ground and not open back up for years and once they did begin making pies again, he was shocked at the new price but managed to buy a dozen or so for his trip back home.

I eat a hubigs almost every day, it’s my junk food allowance. They are as good as they have always been. If you’ve not tried the sweet potato you should

OP camellia beans are shelf stable and highest quality for a local product

Not sure where home is but stop by a Rouses and get some best stop boudin if home is outside of Louisiana.

I don't love the chick peas in the salad mix.

I think Parentons has the best muffaletta.

Well shipping is included so there's that. However, yes, $5 is not what they used to cost. I can't remember what they used to cost. Does anyone know?
