Then get yourself back over to La Boca. The maître d there is the same guy from La Riviera.

I know Orestes very well...doesn't put the best calamari and veal back on the table though.

I'm surprised there isn't a mention of Afreaux one way or another. I guess he is already appropriately rated.

Under: Treedawg, NikNik

Afreaux knows everyone and everything...so by definition he can not be over or underrated.

Are you planning a "WYHI New Orleans Chef Edition" sometime soon?

Why thank you.

I can't think of anyone that is over or under rated.

Those that know their stuff...we know they do and appreciate it!!!!

I'd actually say he's both. He eats out a lot so has a lot to offer but at the same time he's viewed as the resident Mexican food expert when his tastes clearly skew more towards latin/carribean foods.

I agree about afreaux being both. He eats at a lot of places I wouldn't think to try, but I think he would stick up for the minority places even if they weren't that good. So it's kind of hard to trust his recomendations 100% of the time.

Is hard to "rate" someone based on opinions of a message board however

I would though have to day Tigahrag is underrated as a food poster. He seems to know a lot of inside information and doesn't bullshite if he likes a place or not

restaurant owners posting on here are overrated in that this board is an honest exchange of opinions from customers and amateur cooks -- which we all are .. restaurant owners try to manipulate opinions for the most part ... not pointing one in particular out at all .. just never got posters going ga ga over them and treating them like rock stars on here ... unfortunately, some believed the hype ..

underrated: zombie, treedawg, you (zilla), and will cover

Interesting choice. Your check is in the mail.

I would have to put Afreaux as most overrated.

I agree, I guess some people have an attraction to being or knowing an 'insider'.
