T. J. Moran has sold his Ruffino's restaurant, while his son, Burke, is set to sell a 45% share in the two TJ Ribs restaurants. Ruffin Rodrigue and Chef Peter Sclafani, who each owned a 10% share of the popular Highland Road Italian restaurant, bought the remaining shares of Ruffino's for an undisclosed amount. Kevin Kimball, the former general manager of the Camelot Club, is set to buy a share of TJ Ribs. "We want to keep a majority of the restaurant in the Moran family," says Burke Moran. Burke Moran says it is time to sell part of the restaurant because he lives in Montana and his father is retiring. Kimball has experience with Moran-owned restaurants; he worked at Ruth's Chris in the 1990s. "We grew up together in the business, with my father and Stan Harris as our mentors," Burke Moran says. Diners at Ruffino's and TJ Ribs shouldn't notice any changes, Moran and Sclafani say. "TJ always says, 'Make it better every day,' and we're going to continue to live by that," says Sclafani.

I'm pretty sure it's still open. I went to an event there not long ago.

gotcha.

never hear anything about it anymore. But, i haven't lived in BR since 2002 si i guess that plays a role. Not really a place that would get much press on this board b/c of it's private nature.

Could be wrong, but I don't think the Camelot Club is any longer a functioning club. Just operates as an event type space.

Indeed. But, even as a private club, The Camelot Club never really quite was.

The City Club on the other hand...

I think that it is still open for club members for lunch and dinner...I just don't think there are that many club members anymore.

Absolutely incorrect - still a functioning club; breakfast, lunch, dinner...

Always going to be second place to City Club though....

unless the website is outdated (it is copyright 2009) .. looks like it is still a functioning club:

this will prove to be interesting to see how ruffino's does without T.J.'s money behind them ... i love ruffin, he's a good dude .. but he has had it somewhat cush in there skiing on moran's money ... we all know the history of chefs on the business side of the restaurant biz here in BR too ... hope it works out, but i see some bumpy roads ahead for ruffino's ...

I could understand this if this was a new restaurant or if Ruffin had only been on the staff for a few years, but that is not the case here. Are you saying the restaurant has not been profitable at all and now they place will sink?
