Popeyes regular fish sandwich is pretty damn good. Better than the spicy version. The tartar sauce on the regular works better than the spicy sauce that comes with the chicken IMO.

Fish sandwiches at fast food joints is a guilty pleasure. Arby's, Popeyes, Wendy's...all good with actual hunks of fish.

I had one for the first time Sunday. Was not good. May have just been that location. So far, Capt. D's is my favorite.

What kind of fish do they use? Just an unidentified white fish like most places?

If it's anything like the chicken sandwich, then the fish is the same, and only the condiment determines regular or spicy.

Welp, looks like I'm gonna have to be the one. This weekend I will go out and get one from each and give a blind tasting review, similar to my boudin run of years' past. I'd do it sooner but Arby's is a bit of a drive since I live in Prairieville.

filet-o-fish has long been a guilty pleasure of mine. Cheese and fish shouldn’t work but gotdam that’s a tasty sandwich

Look forward to the throwdown

I almost never eat fish sandwiches, but the only one I’ll ever eat is from McD’s

Still have a soft spot for the filet ‘o fish especially if its right out off the assembly line and fresh.

Same is true for the Big Mac. There’s a reason we still crave McDs into adulthood despite superior alternatives. Great marketing from a young age.

I tried the Arby’s fish sandwich last year. I’m sure their fish pattie is better quality than McD’s, but the tartar sauce at Arby’s is terrible. They can blast McD’s quality and half cheese slice, but the Filet of Fish has been around 40 plus years and still going strong.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the fish sandwich throwdown is going down tomorrow! I'll post results once it's completed.

My rankings are

Popeyes
Arby's
Burger King
Wendy's

McDonald's is really a different product. I enjoy one every now and then but it is it's own thing.

I don't do Jack in the Box so I cannot comment.

Fish sandwich from Mama’s Fried Chicken in Opelousas.

And yes, Mama’s is fast food, but obviously not a big chain.
