Damn,,,,,I liked that place. Never ate the fish but enjoyed everything else.

I went recently and got the flounder.

It was good and certainly looked like flounder to me. I don't know what could have possibly be subbed in otherwise, as it seems like a difficult fish to do that with.

If you told me it was triple tail from Suriname, I would gladly pay for that and be happy…. Don’t have to lie to me

That’s the funny thing. They weren’t even using shite fish like Acme.

The raid happened in November of 2019. This is how long it takes to get through the legal system. Supposedly, everything has been done above board since then, but it's hard to trust them.

There menu had shrunk nearly in half over the last few years. Figured it was Covid related but now it makes more sense

Damn I ate there on Tuesday. Presidential Platter and the lamb chops. Wife got the filet, my Mom got the Tripletail stuffed with crab.

Everything was really really good

Had no idea about the sting

I'm curious what even caused them to test it in the first place? Did an employee tip them off or something? Seems like they kept it secret for quite a while.

Years ago a local ATL news station did their own sting operation of area seafood restaurants and just about every single one of them had at least one item that was mis-identified. The publicity got the law involved. One in particular was heavily fined. The rest were found that they themselves had been lied to by their distributors. I don't know what happened with the distributors.

Panga. Southeast Asian catfish. It’s used a lot for a variety including flounder and Dover sole. Julia Childs would roll in her grave.

That’s a big name in gulf coast seafood. I wonder if anyone else is involved in shady practices.

I remember growing up in Mobile the local new station would do a report on who was lying about their fish on the menu. I guess they would go order and then take it back to test it. Was surprising how many places lied.

Panga fillets look nothing like a Halibut or Flounder fillet.
