Fernet isn’t my favorite but it’s fine enough to me. My friends shoot it, so every so often I have to and it’s not the worst option.

Fernet and coke with lime is a great maintenance drink

Never tried it but the descriptions above remind me of this really foul Chinese vodka I tried one time. One of my co-workers is Chinese and he brought bottles of this stuff back for everybody. I can't even describe the taste; it's not like anything else I've ever had. Certainly nothing like vodka. The aftertaste was even worse and the burps 2-3 hours later were the worst of all.

It was so bad that we used to play hands of poker and the worst hand had to do a shot of Chinese vodka. Those are some high stakes. We quickly learned not to try to wash the taste out with soda. That just makes the burps worse and more frequent.
