Lowe's clearing out grills already...

Been looking for a gasser to use occasionally for quick stuff and for when the kettle doesn't have enough space. This grill had a dent in the right side shelf and the igniter was missing.

That's a hell of a good deal.

I think replacement grill grates cost more than what I paid for this grill.

Damn. I want a charcoal burner for steaks. Thanks for the heads up

Long story short - grill was $379. It was listed as half off, but missing the grill grates, igniter, and grease trap. I told the guy that after I bought all the parts, the price would be the same as a new one. He told me he would take 70% off the discounted price. I said okay. Right after I paid for it, the sales associate came found the grates and handed them to me. So I picked up an igniter and a grease basket and called it a day.
The only issue is a dent by the "Spirit II" sign on the right shelf.

I have a Weber Performer in good condition with many add-ons I would consider selling all for around $400.

Got it up close to 600 degrees on the initial burn...

That’s a pretty good deal. You’ll probably be able to straighten the shelf out for the most part. Weber igniters are pretty shitty. I’ve had the kind that snap spark, and the electronic kind with the AAA battery. They typically last a year or two. I got tired of buying new ones, and just go with a long fireplace lighter.

You must have bad luck with igniters. I only replaced 4-5 total over the last 25 years.

My 11 year old Summit 6 burner has 1 that I don’t think ever worked right. The rest are stil fully functional

I got a great deal on a natural gas Genesis at Lowe's one winter. It was marked down, plus all grills were $100 off that day. I mentioned to the manager that Weber was updating the model in the spring, so the ones he had were going to be out of date soon. He knocked another 25% off, and I rolled out with it for around $400.
One igniter on it is wonky. The rest have worked fine for years. I find that if I let the gas run for just a few seconds before I spark them, even the wonky one will fire up.

Friend,
Excellent purchase. I believe those run around $350 regularly. Will you be hosting a Food Board party to break in the grill? I will bring some 93/7 ground chuck and quality aged cheddar if you do.

Put a piece of wood/painters tape on each side of the stainless and use vice grips to carefully flatten the dent out. Happy grilling
Eta, you might call Weber and get a new piece cheap

I was able to straighten it out by hand. It's not really noticeable unless you look real close. I got a new grease catcher and an igniter, which almost doubled the price of the grill.

My weber ignitor didn't last a year. The long lighters at Walmart are $3 in the grill dept or a $1 in the camping section. I buy about 10 at a time in the camping section.

That was a heck of a deal OP

I had a Summit for 15 years. Sold it so I would t have to move it and I was ready to downsize. Loved that grill. I bought a Performer and made the move to charcoal. Love the performer, too, but am looking forward to using the gasser for quick cooks on week nights.
