I gave my opinion, the OP is more than welcome to go and form his own. I don't think it's very good so I advised to skip it. No need to get your panties in a wod.

Are you local? Know the Sonic on Gilmer Rd. in Springhill by chance?

I like Bodacious for that area. Get the rub and sauce and bring to Gris Gris.

Wife has a place a few miles from the one by the Kilgore exit. Actually up by where Sao’s Sonic.

Try Jack Ryan’s in Kilgore. My neighbors sons own it.

Too bad Lupe’s is gone. Not sure what for Mexican. Stop by Harley’s Liquor for all your Hot Damn needs.

No, my BIL is from there and I drive through on my way back/from Louisiana so I've been there several times.

I know near abouts where it's at, not sure I've checked any knuckles there though.

I prefer the Dairy Queen in Overton. It is an old style with a griddle that is about 50 years old and the burger tastes like an old Dairy Queen burger of my youth.

I don’t feel like checking knuckles with them big old piney woods baws or bawettes which can be just as brawny.

Bodacious on Mobberly is not the same as the other Bodacious. Was ranked in the top 5 of Texas Monthly a few years back, not saying TM is the holy grail of BBQ but it's a good reference.

El Rincon or El Sombrero for Mexican.

Juicy's for a burger or breakfast.

Roma's for Italian.

Jack Ryan's in Kilgore is great and they are good ppl as someone referenced. Huge Tiger fans.

Get an Earl Campbell kolache from Shipleys.

Dairy Queen for Steak Fingers.

They do more out of the box items than any other Bodacious. In fact, their burnt end boudin is fantastic.

For those who have had both, Which is better? Carter’s or Bodacious? I’ll be grabbing some bbq on my way back to LA this afternoon. Thanks

I’ve only been to Bodacious, but if you go there, buy a bag of the pinto bean seasoning. I really like it.

I don’t know all of the locations, but the website for one on Mobberly in Longview says it’s closed for remodeling. FYI.

Look up Country Tavern just west of Kilgore.
It’s only like a 30min Drive.

Go to the Bodacious at the second Kilgore exit...30 seconds off I-20...a few mile past Kilgore. Brisket, sliced or chopped, is great. All their stuff, and seasonings/sauces, are great.

I grew up in Longview (went to Spring Hill HS)

Best hamburger in America: Jucy’s

Best pizza in America: Pizza King

**anyone ever visiting Longview needs to go to these 2 places, and bring me back take-home-bake frozen pepperoni pizzas from Pizza King (I prefer double pepperoni while you’re at it)

And yes, chopped beef is great at Bodacious, but I’d recommend Pizza King and Jucy’s over Bodacious

Also Posados is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Longview

Shogun (hibachi) has always been a favorite of mine as well
