I can think of at least 5 restaurants that have been in the location where Sakura is now. On One Callais Ave., off Essen next to I-10. I think it started out as a Pitt Grill, Louisiana Pizza Kitchen, a Mexican, Vincint's, now Japanese, I'm probably missing a few.

the location in mandeville by fancos... Phil's Hamburgers just closed down after just a few months. I thought it was pretty good. Was another buger place before, and Heros grill before that.

Smokey Bones built that site. It was successful and only shut down because the parent company shut down the chain.

Last I checked TJ Ribs was still in business.

The location which is presently Monjuni's in Kenilworth Shopping Center has seen its share of failures. When Giovanni's got busted for the "special services" in the back room, it was Vincent's, then Tigre's and now Monjuni's.

I count 4 there. Copeland built it and put a Wrap-a-Round, he closed that and made it a fast food seafood place, then some Middle Easterners had a seafood, then SOF. Am I missing any?

There is a spot on O'Neil in the curve near George O'Neil that is Mexican now, but it has been several.

You may be right, it must have been memorable.

I remember years ago I was working 3 jobs one summer and one of them was at the Mexican place washing dishes. I got fired after a week.

It was over the most ridiculous nonsense I'd ever seen in my life. This stupid lady that couldn't speak English was very clear to me that I was to clock out at exactly 9 every night. Well obviously if the place closes at 9 then there will be some dishes coming in shortly after close time. Well the health inspector came in and fined them the next morning because there was some dirty dishes. Then they fired me for not cleaning up all the dishes.

Wheeeeeeeee!!!

FWIW the servers were supposed to run the last racks through
