Nor should it.

Not many places with a variety of oysters.

Give me a Louisiana GOM oyster anytime.

Some of those were just known for a specialty dish, I bet Dragos chargrilled has most if not all beat.

Number three that I looked at in DC has to be a joke. They do oysters and specialize in seafood gumbos from the GOM. I am more than sure that everyone here would spew thier guts up over the gumbo.

I love gulf oysters.

I didn't check the menus of the places listed, but a world class oyster bar should have more than just those.

Luke is one of the few places in NOLA with other options that I go to.

While I love big plump, salty gulf oysters I'm also very aware that other places have great oysters as well. And B and G is a worthy number one. Phenomenal place with great oysters.

I don't know of one place in South Louisiana except my house where I can get a nice Mignonette to top them. And if you have never had one, I suggest making it and spooning a bit on a raw oyster. Your mouth will light up.

Had a good mignonette with a bunch of Nova Scotia oysters a few weeks ago. It went well with them.

New Orleans is a food mecca PER CAPITA. Large cities like DC, NYC, San Fran, Seattle have more great restaurants. Don't be butt hurt or insecure. Louisiana is famous for their cuisine but will not nor should not dominate every top 10 list.

I love our food but you will find great food in other cities too. I love a plump and salty LA oyster but miss the oyster bars I have been to in Seattle and New York that offered a dizzying variety where you could explore a diverse assortment of oysters.

The Pacific and Atlantic produce great oysters and a lot of variety. Really tasty, briny. Gulf oysters are good, however, and, without a doubt, the best for cooking.

Well, there's this little house in Uptown N.O. . . . ahem.

Oh, and Lilette, Peche, etc, make a nice mignonette.

Yes I forgot about Lilette and I haven't been to Peche yet and I'll search for that little uptown house.

But as easy as it is to make Im not sure why most just don't have it.
