I’m on no solids for a week due to a very uncomfortable exit ramp situation. Those of you in my age bracket will sympathize

any tasty ideas welcome. No problem with my appetite I’ll eat anything good. Broth and smoothies already getting old

Thx!

have you considered getting your calories by drinking 26 beers each day?

Can you eat baby food? Some of it can be tasty especially with a little salt.

Pureed tomato soup made with homegrown tomatoes? Might have to strain it, though. I don't know exactly what rules you were given for the diet.

I actually did think about baby food, going to take a look and see what rouses has. The liquid diet is more of a prophylactic than a requirement...just trying to ease the pain when the time comes

Will oatmeal or grits work?

Remove the skin and brush some eggplant/zucchini whatever with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian spices and herbs and roast. At the end, grate some parm over it. Once finished, add to a blender. Splash some heavy whipping cream and add a good jarred red gravy to it - something like Rao’s. There’s no set ratios, just add more or less of what you like. Blend it up to the consistency you’re looking for and enjoy

What about meat based spaghetti sauce? It’s damn near a slurry and not a solid. Is that too much for you to handle? If not, you can do the same with shrimp creole or shrimp etouffee. Just omit the rice.

Stouffers spinach soufflé is soft and delicious, as is the corn soufflé. I haven’t bought it in years, but my late son needed soft or blended foods and he liked both of those. Black bean soup, puréed, with a dollop of sour cream was also something he liked. Creamy grits with a poached or soft boiled or soft scrambled egg mixed in. Baked ricotta cheese with marinara.

Have I gone too far off track?

I love those Stouffer’s dishes. When I was little and my parents had people over for dinner, those were the sides quite often. Too many young kids to cook everything homemade. These were expensive at the time.

The spinach is still out there and good. We can’t find the corn soufflé.
