Fantastic:
Savoritz crackers (Ritz) and the miniature ones with PB

Mac and cheese..33 cents and absolutely indistinguishable from Kraft unlike most store brands

Fresh pork chops

Bad

Cheese puffs.. Awful

Miniature bagels.. Hard as a rock

Bad: The carts require a quarter
Good: You get the quarter back!

I loved their chocolate. Eggs, cheese, and milk were a great deal. I wish I had one in Tallahassee.

The take and bake pizzas are pretty awesome for $5 for a large.

all i remember is Auchan's hypermart in houston had gigantic carts that required a quarter.

but it seems like there was another grocery store that did this as well...

I remember this but I'm foggy on the store. Was it National?

Borrowing a quarter for each cart was explained to me once. They don't have to hire that guy you see at other grocery stores who goes around picking up all the carts, which easily saves the business $100+ each day. Heck, who wouldn't want to save 36 grand per year? The savings is passed on apparently.

The prices on produce are hard to beat. Sadly, there are no stores here in Louisiana.

They can be a bit sneaky using their Aldi brands as lookalikes for well known brands.

Was it the real superstore. I think there was one on Greenwell Springs near Airline.

I have been impressed with their organic whole chicken for $2.49/lb. Though, I find a couple of feathers every time.

Their Dole celery is always crisp and cheap.

I'm too afraid to try their beer and wine selection.

My mom loves that place. I rarely go there. I don't have anything against it though.
