Let's take a moment and talk about what McDonald's does well.

Because all of it's not garbage.
Personally, their hotfudge sundaes are the best and a chicken nugget fresh out of whatever kinda machine they cook them in, should hang in the Louvre.

The fries when you get them fresh nice and hot are fantastic... I also like their $1 spicy chicken sandwich

Cookie tote, fries and a double qp w/ cheese. A double qp w/ cheese, cheese only is one of the better fast food cheeseburgers out there IMO.

When I was a kid, the fries were legit special because they fried them in beef fat as well.

Japan still has the beef fat fried! They're fantastic, obviously. That country legit does not give a shite what any other country in the world thinks. They are gonna do them.

I am also a sucker for their $1 breakfast burritos...especially when they are piping hot and havent had time for the ends of the burrito to get crispy.

The Sausage McMuffin is one of the best fast food breakfast sandwiches. It's my go-to when I do fast food breakfast, which isn't very often anymore.
Lunch/dinner, I don't really like much. Fries are good if they're fresh, and I can stomach a McDouble or Double Cheeseburger.

I have no idea, but I'm fairly sure that Japan is the last and only country where McDonald's fries in beef fat. I have no proof of this because I haven't been to every country, but I know they are one of very few. Everyone else uses veggie oil, I think.
Maybe beef fat is too expensive and it's a measure to cut costs?

My favorite McDonald’s item is the regular burger like what comes with a happy meal.
I also like the bacon-egg-cheese biscuit. Sometimes a sausage biscuit with cheese added.

This is my understanding of why the change was made. It's too bad. The beef fat is healthier and produces a much better tasting product.
