I had one of their stouts that I liked. But overall a nice spot to sit and have a beer.

True. Do you think they would let you bring your own beer for a corking fee?

Agreed. I am still pissed that you pay those prices and they don't have a restroom in the restaurant.

Side note, anybody been to Cest Bon in Mermentau lately? Thought about detouring by there on the way down. Been a few years since I’ve been but they used to have the best boiled shrimp on the planet..

Live less than 10 minutes from it. All their boiled seafood is great and I would actually put most of their other seafood dishes against anything you'd eat in Lafayette.

Their porter is pretty good, surprisingly. I haven't tried much of their other stuff.

the beers they have at the brewery are better than what they can, IMO. they have several rotating IPAs that are all better than Hop Blooded. And it's a good place to hang out, even w the kids. The new food menu is pretty good, too

It’s a damn good sandwich, imho. Not really poboy bread but at least it’s not dry and crunchy like a lot of people’s Liedenheimer or French bread poboys. I hate crunchy bread poboys so this works for me. The meat is nothing spectacular, but it’s good cold cuts. The cheese, gravy and jalapeños mayo bring it together. Good arse sandwich. Not the best in the state but something I would tear up from time to time if I lived here, especially to combat a hangover. The better half got the shrimp and it was fantastic. Maybe better than the Special. Fairly priced and a decent beer selection. Touché Darrel’s.

That was our go to lunch on Saturdays in college after a night at OB’s.

Crap, almost forgot - Pronia's if you want a good muffalletta. Their other food is ok, but you go their for the muff. It's solid.

Mazens is my favorite restaurant in town, glad you enjoyed it.

We were also both at Darrel's at the same time yesterday
