I understand it's a marketing scheme and this woman is trying to make money, but that's not a king cake.

Looks like a tasty circular crawfish pie thing though

You're right. It's even better than a king cake.

That’s fricking gross. No. No. Crawfish boudin? Rice inside a fricking cake? No.

Can you just hand us your food and let us fling that instead of shite?

It's not a damn cake. This is a filled savory pastry. A crawfish pie.

The term "king cake" has become bastardized. I'm not even a big king cake fan but people can't leave some things alone and really grinds my gears.

A crawfish pie shouldn’t have rice in it either. I love crawfish pies. I love boudin, I love king cakes. I’d kill for a crawfish pie right now.

No shite, that actually looks good (light sauce on that pastry). Maybe I’m just hungry.

Nice concept. Traditionalists (aka dinosaurs) will always favor being stuck in time and will resist culinary fusion. We already have crawfish pistolettes, boudin kolaches, and crawfish pie. This seems like a natural progression.

I’m in. I’d like to try this.

The cream sauce looks delicious. I'm not a fan of rice in bread as some have mentioned. I'd be more interested in one that had just a crawfish mixture minus the rice with the cream sauce on it.

Holly Clegg has one with a crawfish mixture (no sauce on top) made with croissant rolls. I could work with that one and it appeals to me more.

I think the colored parm cheese is clever.

Here's the recipe.

Okay, who in Baton Rouge has a good crawfish pie I can have them top with their house cream sauce? I'm ready to go healthy and low-fat for lunch today.
