Do you know who the guy is?

I was thinking we would lose 30 to 40% by the end of September.
Life will go on and we will get through this, but it sucks for those folks who invested their life savings into a places and busted their arse to build a business.

Time to weed out some places.
Maxwell’s on magazine is one of many that comes to mind. That place across the street from Moe’s BBQ where Pyramids use to be located can kick rocks as well.

this isn't just a Nola issue. Europe, China, and other affluent countries are about to face major economic depression. tourism is going to take a major hit
For sure.
I would be hesitant for a while to open a true dine in restaurant. I can say covid or no covid a drive thru does wonders, just not having to get the kids out of the car etc. I think those without that option should offer curbside pickup. Of course staffing issues will be a problem and a lot of these restaurants are going to have just a few employees doing everything.
Also have noticed some restaurants getting a food truck and setting up at different neighborhoods throughout the week. Seems like it is working.
Haven't noticed anything really closing here but a juice place. But they charged $9 for a juice... seems like that was going belly up no mater what. I have seen several companies with a small amount of in-office employees break their lease. Cut overhead when you can telework. Not something restaurants can do really.

The bigger question is what is entrepreneurship going to look like going forward? I mean, you’re 100% right about people busting their butt and taking their own money to invest in a business but going forward how is this going to alter ones viewpoint of starting a business after what we are currently going through?

People innovate. When one door closes another opens. This could spark some very creative ideas from people.

Right. I get that. But innovation and ideas still requires capital.

I just googled Bonci's and they are permanently closed in NO. That didn't last long, but based on the few times I went there, its not unexpected, Covid or no Covid. Place was poorly managed and the food was very uneven.

Was wondering what had prompted that!

I met Paul at a food festival in Lafayette around 90-91. Great guy, very friendly then started watching some of his cooking shows on PBS. Extremely talented chef that has shaped Cajun cooking. His sister had a restaurant around Sunset called Enolas I think.

Enola’s was off Evangeline Throughway on the way to Opelousas. It was wonderful! I miss Enola’s and now sadly K-Paul’s. Never had a bad meal at either. Homemade breads, salad dressings, eggplant pirogue, stuffed flounder, silver medal sauce, rabbit tenderloin with mustard sauce, on and on. The Prudhomme’s knew their way around the kitchen and cooked with enjoyment.

Enola's had great venison. Quality went down when she got out of the daily management.

Agree. There is no "end date" or even a wild guess as to when things will go back to normal. As of now, it's all speculation with heading back to square one once again to try to get a handle on this thing.
I’ll take a wild guess. November 4th.

My local coffee shop's sales are up 5-10% over a year ago. It is the only one in the chain to have a drive thru. The rest of the company's cafes are down 30-40% because of no drive thru.

Yes it was and I enjoyed it. Really good down home Cajun.
