Just roasted a beef tenderloin that’s been in my freezer for 5 years.

It was fantastic. It was vacuum sealed when I bought it. Was recently discovered and decided to cook it for Valentine’s Day. Absolutely no freezer burn and was in perfect condition.

Seasoned it well, put it on a rack in the oven at 180 degrees and cooked for a couple hours until an internal temp of 125, then seared it in a black iron skillet. Delish.

Someone should explain to you what dysentery is and what causes it.

It was frozen. Why would he get sick?

He probably wouldn't get sick, but it would definitely have degraded in taste and texture over the years.

I hope he enjoyed it, but I bet you wouldn't serve it to guests at a dinner party. At least, I hope you would not.

How does that equal dysentery?

I’ve cooked frozen crawfish tails 2 years old with no issue. Quality was fine. I think you jumped the gun with your post.

Several years vacuum sealed and frozen has never been a problem for us.

I cooked some de headed shrimp that were froze in water for Id guess about 7 years. Peeled, butterflied, deep fried and they were like any other frozen shrimp I have had.

Quality will definitely decrease after 5 years frozen.

However, it doesn't mean it's guaranteed to be bad. If packaged correctly and if the freezer stayed frozen correctly, the quality decline could very well be minimal.

The funniest part is he's a dentist. You'd think they know a lot of sciencey shite.

Not debating that but the guy claimed dysentery. Dysentery causes are not from freezing.
