Strawberry Lemonade was great
I had some stuffed bread with mozzarella, pepperoni, and sausage. It was kind of like a pistolette and a calzone got together and made a delicious baby.
I also had some wierd thing from near Congo Square that was basically a Philly Steak (no cheese but lots of onions and peppers) in a pita with a sauce that tasted kinda like 1000 island. It was pretty good too for like $6.

I spent a small fortune on Saturday. Made it a point to try the crawfish bread, which was good. Softshell crab poboy was very good, worth the ten bucks IMO. Shrimp tacos from Tacqiera Corona were the huge.

mirliton casserole and pecan catfish were the best I tasted. Also had the boudin balls and crawfish bread which were not the best to me.

Soft shell crab poboy was fab, as always. They must sell thousands of them. Line just never stopped.

Softshell crab poboy was great, crawfish sack was great. Rosewater tea turned out to be a refreshing midday drink.

I also remembered to make reservations at cafe dante right outside the gates of jazzfest. the food and service there was excellent.

I'm sure you mean Cafe Degas??

If so, that is a great little place. Food is always wonderful. Service is slow sometimes, but I think that is just them trying to be French.

You are correct, it was Cafe Degas.I should wait till I have coffee to post on TD.

I was surprised at how well they kept up with the jazz fest crowd.

Alligator pie was excellent. Forgot where it came from. I was wet cold & grumpy at the time.

Havent been to Jazzfest in about 4 years. Is it still pretty much all the same items to eat or has there been some great new additions recently?

We also had the corn maque choux with shrimp from the Indian fry bread tent. It was delicious.
