Hybrids
Yes, 1/2 and 1/2 mallard and pintail. Rare, but you do see that now and then. Tastes better than a mallard, nice and oily like a pintail.

was planning on swinging by the store today or tomorrow to check out the price on ducks. if reasonable, i might do a duck gumbo. if not, i'll probably just do a chicken and sausage jambalaya for the game.

Or the camp, the blinds, the decoys, the guns, the shells, the boats, the booze, the poker losings, the food and on and on. $25 per duck is a steal!

Not for the end consumer; you guys pay for all that for your own entertainment as well as putting food on the table. I just want the end product

I would have to say that the first one is definitely a woody/mallard hybrid.

About to head to Chinatown and scoop up some duck...hopefully the whole bird. BUT, also hopefully not alive like the chickens that they sell.

I didn't ask about the price, but I do know that Chris' on Millerville has at least 5 whole ducks(about 4-5 lbs each) that he got in yesterday. He's got 10, but I already reserved the other 5. You can call him for pricing (225) 755-1783.

He's also got duck breasts for sale if you don't want the whole duck.
