Why is Italian dressing rarely available at restaurants and basalmic vinaigrette forced upon us as if it was an acceptable substitute?

You have no taste.

Ribeyes should only be marinated in ketchup.

Probably because all of the Italian dressing is being used to marinate the steaks

I sous vide my steaks in italian dressing. I find it holds heat temps better than water.

Have you been to Italy? You ask for dressing there you get balsamic and olive oil and you mix your own.

“Italian dressing” is a bullshite American thing.

And it's delicious. I didn't say it wasn't American. But that's the name we gave it, and that's the name it will be.

I really enjoy Girard's Olde Venice Italian dressing. I had a lovely avocado and hearts of romaine salad with it last night.
