I'm fully aware. The poster didn't say that though. He said "pizza is more american than italian", which is not true.

Authentic
Chinese 99% of people have no idea at all what authentic Chinese food is. There are literally thousands of variaations. Each region is completely different from another as much as Italian is from Irish.

Pizza is more American than anything....
Rong!
The history of pizza begins in antiquity, when various ancient cultures produced basic flatbreads with toppings.
The precursor of pizza was probably the focaccia, a flat bread known to the Romans as panis focacius,[1] to which toppings were then added.[2] Modern pizza developed in Naples, when tomato was added to the focaccia in the late 18th century.[citation needed]
The word pizza was first documented in AD 997 in Gaeta[3] and successively in different parts of Central and Southern Italy. Pizza was mainly eaten in the country of Italy and by emigrants from there. This changed after World War II, when Allied troops stationed in Italy came to enjoy pizza along with other Italian foods.

Basically California or New York for authentic Chinese food. I could eat XLB dumplings all day long.
American Italian would be the pick for me and it's really not close.
American Italian
Baja Mexican

Italian food is basically all the same. They just shaped the pasta different for each dish and renamed it.

Italian and Chinese, followed by Mexican a fair distance back.
They are each so different so as not to compare.

95% of the people in this thread never had any real Italian, Chinese, or Mexican food...
Well, I spent 3 weeks in Tuscany a couple of years ago, and lived in West Texas for 8 years.
I reckon I know what “real” Italian and Mexican food are. And yes I know Ted-Mex versus Mexican.
