Quit watching when he showed flour and oil for a roux.

Thanks. Saved me a click.

But does he use Kitchen Bouquet?

Is this wrong or just too rudimentary

It was by no means traditional, but the final product indeed looked very good and tasty

I hate everything about that video.

I got accused of being a troll for calling it a thick gumbo in the comments of the original video.
It does look tasty but nobody that knows anything about Louisiana food would call that a jambalaya.

But it is really a hybrid dish I agree

I reminds me of the crocpot jambalaya's I see people post to reddit from time to time.

It was a gumbo that then added rice like a jambalaya
He honestly has a good idea with what he made, but it isnt smart to market it as jambalaya IMHO

Just looking at it and it's not my preference

I agree. I guess my statement was more directed to the general population.
I almost bought his cookbook the other day. It has some really good looking stuff in it.

Yeah it's essentially a gumbo that he then added rice to and baked.
And apparently it's only for 2 people since he only had 2 chicken thighs and put a whole one in his bowl.

Isn't the title of the video "Cajun jambalaya?"
That video is a travesty.

For a James beard chef from Rayne, he should not call that Cajun jamabalaya
But the dish looks very appetizing and interesting

I’ve made a similar dish, we call it gumbolaya
