Used to be a good source for reviews and pics. Went to a new place out of town (houston to okc), that had 50 Google reviews all high. 0 Yelp reviews. Food was great btw. Kinda miss Yelp.

Pretty much. People that did it to leave honest reviews started using Google since it was easier to do, plus often Google Maps will prompt you to leave a review. Then the ones who did it to be a 'reviewer' all moved to social media because eating in front of people on tiktok or instagram can apparently make money.

This is a space where Google took over and did it better.

Yelp is weird. People can leave valid reviews and Yelp won't permit them to be published.

Bing it tied to yelp, mind you.

Yelp tries to extort restaurants for money. They will remove bad reviews for money paid and are very aggressive trying to get restaurants to sign up. I won't do business with them.

Yup. I’ve had to tell them multiple times in the past to stop calling me.

On par with the Best of 225 trying to convince me to buy ad space during the voting time.

As a business owner who relies on reviews, yelp is well beyond dead. I dont know how to explain it but I've found a correlation between yelp users and batshit insane people.

Yelp died to me as a user several years ago.

Reviews were terrible and not helpful at all. A lot of helpful reviews were often hidden.

I use google reviews now for helping me decide if I want to go somewhere over another.

I hardly ever use it any more. I hate the page layout and how they sort things. Google is much easier.

From what i hear, Yelp wants you to pay to receive good reviews.

There are a few good posters left who have been posting for a long time and whose reviews I take seriously. But they are few and far between.

I love people thinking that isnt just an advertising scheme and not people's actual votes

I laugh at the people who do it in their car. Just eat at the table like a normal person.

Yelp tried to extort my business and I told them to pound sand. We rely more on the google reviews. I only use yelp if I want to eat out and I don't know what I want. I'll use the map feature. Also most restaurants have their menus available on yelp.
