Is Vestal in trouble?

Went to Vestal in Lafayette last night for only the second time. My wife and I don't venture to downtown Lafayette for dinner frequently, so maybe it's the norm, but there was an alarming number of empty tables on a Friday night from 7p-9p. Probably only 60% occupied. Dinner and service was excellent...probably the best meal in Lafayette I've had since Jane's. I understand it's probably the most expensive meal in town and we're in a recession, but I would think Lafayette has enough money to keep the place buzzing.
2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 sides, and 3 drinks for about $270 after tip. For the quality of food and service, I think it's a reasonable price point. I would hate to see this place go under because they can't fill seats.

Probably the trendiness of paying exorbitant prices to be a cool kid is wearing off.

You wear PFGs and think Texas Roadhouse is nice, don’t you?

But seriously, Lafayette may not be big enough to have enough people that go to Vestal often and/or enough people who go once or twice to splurge to keep it going.

I’m not familiar with the place, but I think the week or two after the holidays are slow for most high end restaurants

We went to Pamplona for their Christmas popup last week and Vestal was full that night. It was a Thursday

IMO, food at Vestal is very good but overpriced. I ate there once and enjoyed my meal, but left still hungry. Location is suspect since not everyone wants to deal with downtown Lafayette, as the freaks definitely come out at night. 3 bills for a meal of 2 people is pretty steep based on todays economy in Lafayette. Personally, I think Charlie G’s has better food, service, location, parking, and price point. Place is always packed, consistent with outstanding food and solid wine & spirits selection.
Vestal kinda reminded me of the Fish and Game Grill that Chef James Graham opened after leaving Prejean’s. Outstanding food, unique menu items, but it was priced for a whole different clientele. Dinner for 2 was in the $250 - $300 price range back in the 90’s. It wasn’t open very long as James left for Florida where he tragically died at 45 yrs old.

Only women go who use their ole man’s credit card. $300 later
Women are keeping Pamplona and Vestal open. They spend all their money eating out and drinking.

Charley G’s was our go-to for many years, but we got burned out. Probably went there 3-4 times/year for 5 years since we moved to town. Vestal was a fresh, new place that offered different items and vibe. The 2 times we ate there, I left full.
I think my gripe with Lafayette is the lack of options. We can only go to Marcello’s, Social, Vermillionville, Pamplonas, etc so many times.
Need to get back to Jane’s soon. I feel like that place barely gets mentioned on here.

That place sucks. We went before a Christmas party. It was like a real life version of real house wives of Lafayette. fricking horrible. My favorite part were the old boys letting their wives chill at a table while they pounded $6 Mich ultras at the bar. It’s was just so Lafayette.

Did the experience come with any lube or was it dry?

Marcello's and Pamplona's for us too

I like the place a lot. Overpriced? Maybe. But they are one of the best restaurants in Lafayette IMO

Lafayette has one of the better Chili’s around, I don’t know why these women keep forcing their SOs to go to this Vestal shite

So, just to be clear. It sucks because some dudes were over paying for ultras?

Look here, baw. I love my PFG stuff, but I haven't been to Roadhouse since working in Bossier back in 2011 or so.
