onions

I read an interview with a carnival food vendor. He said if things were slow, he'd toss some onions on the griddle, and the smell would draw in the customers.

Roasting garlic in the oven while dehydrating habaneros in the dehydrator. Intoxicating.

Best thing i've ever smelled is when i cooked down onions/peppers/celery/garlic and threw in some smoked brisket. I used the smoked brisket as my meat in a chili.
Was unbelievably delicious smelling and tasting.
