Amazing how many top-shelf joints there are now:
Roegels
The Pit Room
Brisket House
BrooksPlace
Killens
Corkscrew
Tejas Chocolate Craftory
And there are others and Truth BBQ (from Brenham) is supposed to open here soon.

Houston is great, I'm from there, but for overall bbq town, KC is tough to beat.

Gatlin's has good sides, but I've never been impressed with their BBQ.

How long has it been since you've had BBQ in Houston? Many of these joints are around five years old.

Also, the Pit Room needs to expand desperately. I know you can eat at their bar next door, but most days it just isn’t nice enough outside to eat there.
Went Saturday and that place was a fricking nut house.

Yes. Next question

The Ellis Brothers BBQ weekend popup at Lee's Fried Chicken and Donuts is legit.
I had same opinion on Gatlin's
In the past 2 weeks, I've tried Corkscrew and Tejas. Corkscrew had the best brisket I've ever eaten. Tejas was good just too far a trip to be worth it.
Still haven't tried Killen's.

If it falls within our majestic 3 loops, it's Houston bub.
