Hey guys, it seems that my India trip thread is fairly popular on the OB and I am getting a few comments that you guys would like the threads. I am just going to link my threads here and update in the OP with my new OB thread every three days. Let me know what you all think.

Very interesting. That is photos of an area/food that most of us will never see. Thank you for sharing!

I love biriyani. Now I want some. And samosas. No pakori?
Since okra and eggplant and rice dishes and a love for spicy food are common in south Louisiana, maybe not so difficult a transition from one food culture to another? Although I'm sure you grew up with both.

Yeah man, no pakori this time. But yeah, a lot of the food culture is similar. My mom doesn't cook much South Louisiana food but I do and we always eat it when we can. We enjoy both types a ton.

I've been to Hyderabad.. I think my favorite part was the little kids following us around taking pictures because we were white

Visiting India is definitely on my bucket list. I have several friends who have been and everyone of them has loved it. I love the food and, frankly, would like to experience more of it.

It is a nice place if you know where to go. If you need any info on places to visit, I can help with that if you do intend on going.

People tell me it is a wonderful country overall, but some parts are pretty grim. I suppose that could be said for most places.

Ya. Kinda sad going through the slums. It is just life for some people though. They know nothing else.

Thanks for the posts. I really enjoyed them, and I am totally going to make some keema now.
Had never heard of it, but I looked up some recipes, and it sounds good. I have some ground goat in the freezer that will be perfect for it.

I went to the same area of India in October. Food was fabulous. Great trip.
We had lunch at the Palace hotel, great restaurant.
We also went to the beach at Visahkputnam.
Incredibly beautiful place.

This is amazing OP. Take more pics next time you go! Home cooking looks fantastic. Were the fancy restaurants toward the end really that bad?
