That right there. Something about having to work for it that makes it special. This is just like the VCR ruined classic movies, when you can watch them any time, who cares!

When you can watch it any time, it ceases being a big deal. In the time of only 3-4 channels on tv, you had to wait all year to watch the wizard of oz or It's a wonderful life. You planned for it so you wouldn't miss it as it was only on that one time.

If you grew up after cable tv became the norm, I don't expect you to understand.

R2R, I agree, but the main question is can they maintain consistency through proliferation? aka don't pull a 'Krispy Kreme'!

With Five Guys, Smashburger, etc..growth. I think In-N-Out felt it was time to finally push forward.

Speaking just from all the different ones in Phoenix alone, the quality is all over the map from one location to another. I can't imagine moving across country would be much different. Still, a substandard version of a top fast food burger joint like in & out is light years better than typical burger joints.

The new ones in Dallas have been great each time for me. They won't be heading east past Texas anytime soon though.

Interesting that something maybe going into that building again. The land owner was looking for 20 K a month rent for the building, which is the reason Foodies closed and nothing has returned since. The man was very old at the time with children in their mid 60's. Maybe he has passed away, or INO thinks they can make it work with that outrageous rent. I guess we will see.

That is the story I always heard. I can't believe the parish couldn't bust his arse for letting the building look like such a shite hole with over grown bushes/trees/grass.
It was a pretty nice building back when it was in service.

It had a violation on it the other day. It was a great building. I assume it will be torn down and rebuilt if INO takes over. I imagine they would remodel it to look like the rest of their restaurants. Plus there is no telling what kind of condition that building is in now. It has been vacant since well before Katrina.

I am just speculating...but it doesn't seem to make much sense to expand to Louisiana when there are so many better markets to flesh out in texas...they put the distribution center in Dallas and are moving very quickly opening at least six in a really short time here...so they want to move very fast to make the distribution center pay for itself...
They could spend the next five years building in Houston, Austin, San antonio, etc...which are all larger markets with more opportunities than NO...
I would be surprised if he next market in the south would be Louisiana...

There are no plans to come to Louisiana. You can email them and they will tell you that. Any talk of them opening here is a lie.

Yeah, they'll expand in Texas.

They aren't coming in town here anytime soon.

There was a work truck and a few cars out there today, but that could be related to the violation mentioned earlier in the thread, or just some random maintenance.
