The owners are making money hand over foot with Zea.

Semolina is a labor of love and a fun nostalgic place for the owners. I don't see it going away even if they are losing money. I can also see new locations again at some point, However, once again they are so busy expanding Zea.

We go to semolina every couple of months.

I didn't realize Semolina's still existed. Used to go there often in the mid to late 90's off Bennington.

The originals were pretty damn good when the Taste Bud guys ran it.
I believe at some point they sold it to another group who let it go down hill.
Might have brought it back, but I don’t think they care much about it.

I don't know if it was sold, but it looks like they run it now.

Taste Buds owned it in the 90's, sold it and that is when they went downhill, 10 years later bought it back. I think that was in 2007.

Would that be the last one (if it happened)?

I don't know if the current food could ever hold up to my memories from 25+ years ago, but would love to eat there just for the nostalgia. The one on Coursey was a favorite of my families as a kid.

anyone know the recipe/ingredients for the Coffee Rani iced coffee they sold ? Tasted like a mixture of heavy cream and condensed milk that was added and stirred to the iced coffee. TIA

I remember when the one in Alec opened--I was so excited, as frequent business trips took me there at the time, and it was a bright spot in an otherwise depressing culinary scene.
