If he likes to make soups, get him an immersion blender. It's a hand held blender that is great for pureeing soups in the pot instead of transferring it to a blender to puree.
I have one and use it at least 2 times a month when making cream soups.

Get him a customized roll around burner and pot combo. The 5 gallon cast aluminums are really big right now.

Just in case you get a commission, I bought one. Discount with Black Friday code.
Hope he likes it. Also, do you have any peppercorns you recommend? Are they all the same?
Thanks for the idea.

I've been using the hell out of mine. Love it.
I just used peppercorns I already had (Costco), but I know they sell some on their site and also I know people rave about The Spice House online store. Same family as Penzey's, but owned by the saner sibling who did not insert politics into their business.

$12.99 a bag. $3.50 at grocery. I think they already have enough of my money.

Staub puts the 4 quart cocotte on sale every year at $149.00 and it’s a great deal. Lifetime pot. I cook whole chickens in it pretty regularly in addition to a lot of other things.
I’ve given them for Christmas gifts the last few years and we buy a couple extra while on sale for other gifts, weddings etc…during the year.
LINK
All the sites that handle Staub have it for the same price. Williams-Sonoma etc… so if there is a particular color one might have it when the other doesn’t. Free shipping too so it’s my go too. Three showed up last week and will get a few more.

I know - it’s a $200 pepper grinder. But it’s life changing.
After reading your post, I googled this. Read reviews. Ordered this, plus the salt shaker.

Souper Cubes
silicone freezer compartment trays with lids for freezing liquids and other things you want portioned out. When needed you just pop out the amount you want and put the rest back in the freezer

This is good to know. I expect to receive my set early next week. I will make sure they stay out on the kitchen counter and get plenty of use.

Have you ever used a Unicorn Magnum pepper grinder?
It's really nice, only a paltry $70
Does the mannkitchen just really put out the volume? Smooth as silk?

My best friend keeps wanting to get the Unicorn, so maybe I can compare both. Funny enough, she got me the Mannkitchen as a gift (with the rest of my girls - we joint gift for all birthdays), but she wouldnt' care enough to buy that for herself.
If she gets Unicorn, I'll try it out and let y'all know. I end up there at least weekly.

I can’t get my gf to not use pre ground pepper. She won’t use my pepper grinder. Maybe this is the fix?

Absurdly, there are actually 75 coarseness settings
They poke fun at it themselves in the manual.

I need to try this thing out. I bought my parents in law a Unicorn and they use it all the time and aren't really the most culinarily inclined
They also use the hell out of the thermopen one even though my FIL used to be adamantly opposed to putting holes in meat "letting the juices all leak out."
Not sure I could justify a $200 pepper grinder whenim already very satisfied with the Unicorn.
