I’ve never heard of this “tipping the carvers with better meat” thing before, but it’s been mentioned multiple times so I believe it.

I’m just amazed that it’s commonplace to spend ~$50 on a meal before drinks and then pay extra to avoid the crappy stuff.

I mean, you don't have to. You can just wait for them to bring better stuff out and try and flag them down. The extra tip is just to get them to you faster. It is more of a premium cut insurance

lobster bisque, flank steak, sirloin(house special), lamb chop, bacon wrapped fillet, leg of lamb, beef rib.

Skip the chicken and sausage.

Salad bar is fantastic but you dont want to fill up on it. Their dressings are great. I usually gett some dressings, some cheeses, some cured meats and bacon, and a bowl of lobster bisque.

Why not just go to a better restaurant and spend the same or less for one plate of food that you really want?

A buddy of mine taught me that trick. It's not like I go often. I go maybe 1-2 times a year and it's usually a big group of me and my buddies. I am with you though that I would rather go to a number of other restaurants and get a real steak or lamb, or whatever I am feeling.

Eat the meats you don’t typically eat at other steakhouses

Naw just hit the charcuterie and the bacon bits

The actual salad is a con though you’re right in that regard.

Done even go by the rice and beans.

The salad bar is impressive, however it’s fun to look at and even more fun to avoid it and just fill up on meet

Ask for the beef ribs, they are legit and something you can’t get very many places. Other than that, the lamb rack and the ribeye and filet are the way to go.

I like getting a little mound of green salad with vinaigrette on it just as something fresh to have a bite of once in a while. Otherwise I avoid the salad bar.

Must have some weak eaters on this board. I get a huge plate from the salad bar, and am still able to gorge on enough meats to leave a basketball team satsfied for a weak.

First time I ever ate there......I nearly shite myself on the way home. Luckly it was only about a mile from the house to the restaurant.

I never went there again until this year and had no issues.

Last time I went, I had one too many bowls of lobsters bisque. Had to let it go in the parking lot before I drove home.

No ragrets

Literally everything he said. Also add, don't eat the potatoes they bring to the table. Way too filling. If you aren't hurting too bad, their carrot cake is really good.
