I am all for the lobster bisque and the beef rib. Also, you may enjoy smearing some of the goat cheese on several cuts of beef. I always feel sorry for the guys with the lesser cuts of meats, I assume they are newer gauchos.

Used to get that when I lived in BR. It was a great deal for "fancy meals" on a college budget. It was fun to go with a couple of friends too.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but Fogo de Chao is better

I ate at the Fogo de Chao and didn’t feel it was any any better. They did not have the lobster bisque, the nice slices of bacon, and the meat definitely has more salt on it than Texas de Brazil.

I've been to Texas de Brazil around a dozen times and I went to Fogo once, a few months back. I'd say Texas de Brazil is a lot better than Fogo.

I've never been to a Texas de Brazil location but have been to 3-4 other Brazilian places, including Fogo (two locations). Fogo was my favorite out of those I've eaten. They were all somewhat similar with really good salad bars and that Brazilian bread that I try to limit but is sometimes difficult.

Some of the comments about wine reminded me of the 1st time that I dined at Fogo, which was about 2004 in Houston (Westheimer). There were six of us and we got a bottle for the table. I didn't drink wine often at the time and said I'd be fine with whatever selection they picked. While taking my very 1st sip of some sort of Red, I noticed Bush 41 at the table next to us which caught me by surprise so I choked just a little. My dad said something like 'I thought you said you drink it sometimes?' and then I replied 'Don't everyone look at once, but I think that is George & Barbara Bush right behind you.' Of course, everyone looked and then he gave us a quick nod and smile.

Salad bar is there to distract you from gorging on the meat and getting your money's worth.

It’s still the best salad bar in town for that very reason

I agree. If I ever go back, I’m sticking with the salad bar and I’m not a salad bar person. It’s the best selection I’ve ever seen. It’s sort of a charcuterie bar with soup as well.

So you guys all painted a very accurate picture.

Got a couple things from the salad bar but I wasn't going to frick up by filling up on that bullshite. It was a very good salad bar though. Roasted garlic>>>>>

The cuts were honestly all over the place.

Flank steak was perfect. The portion they sliced was more rare than medium rare.

Beef rib was great

Lamb roast was great, but the chops were the worst thing I had there. It was over seasoned and way too salty.

The bacon wrapped filet was a joke. It was cheap looking at best.

Service was kinda shite too. We had a pretty big party (16 I think) and the server was completely overwhelmed.

Food gets a 7/10

Will probably go back, but not anytime soon.

Thanks for reporting back. You missed out if you didn’t have the lobster bisque.

Just saying, for graduation, a place like that is going to be stupid packed all day so I wouldn’t expect great service on a day like that.
