Wow, what a great beer. I like IPA's, but I had avoided this one because I assumed that it was an out-of-balance hop monster. In reality, it's a beautifully balanced IPA. Yes, lots of hops, but the malt comes through as well. A+

I found it in 16 oz cans

It was the first IPA I ever tasted, it spoiled me to a degree. It’s very good.

I've never cared for it. It was the first IPA I tried many years ago and put me off IPAs for another few years.

Now you need to try a double milkshake ipa with lactose and coconut to compare.

Have you ever tried the Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA? Love that one

That's a great one. I'm a big IPA guy now but I still don't care for DFH90. I actually don't care for much of anything DFH brews.

Imagine how many people "didn't like IPAs" for years after trying Indian Wells Amnesia IPA or Abita Jockamo as their first IPAs.

Jockamo was a treat compared to Amnesia!

I agree. Amnesia was horrible whatever style it was supposed to be. Jockamo was just medium bad as a beer, but horrible as an IPA.

I find that if you don't think of Jockomo as an IPA, it's more enjoyable.

I miss the old piney taste of the first proper IPAs.

Jockamo was one of the most disgusting things I’ve ever tasted. Do they even make it still?

DFH 90 Minute used to be my favorite IPA. I remember liking working in Texas just so I could bring some back home to Louisiana, then buying it non-stop when we moved to TX.

Speaking of throw back the clock...

Firestone Walker put out six packs of Double Jack in cans about a month or so ago. Since they had stopped making it, I had forgotten how delicious fresh DJ was. Still a top-tier DIPA for me.

I've only tried the 60 minute. I can't find the 90 anywhere. Maybe total wine?

Dogfish Head is a very underrated brewery, imo.

The IPA that changed it all for me is Bell's Two Hearted Ale. It's my consistent "go-to" IPA.

It's hoppy, but balanced. With nothing but Centennial hops, you get that classic, bitter Pacific Northwest style, but it's not an over-the-top palate destroyer. I believe the ABV hits around 7 - 7.2%, so you can have a few without seeing things crosseyed.

Classic. One of my favorites.
