The bar at Meril is legit, imho. Great place to grab a spot and enjoy a few small plates while watching a game on tv.

I think Delmonico is also pretty good and better than Emerils. It's always fun to hit that up before a Saints game.

I honestly never gave their prices a second look. No clue if it's expensive or not. Who cares how much it costs if you enjoy it

I know. I’ve seen your likes on here. We disagree a lot to say the least.

If you see his likes about now I’d be willing to bet his likes are giving you the finger.

And I’m an Emerils fan although I see his likes in Delmonico more frequently.

My last meal there was terrific as have been all my meals there. Not 5 star, but a good New Orleans restaurant. Eating in the kitchen is a lot of fun.

Tom Fitzmorris gives it his highest rating. I think the place is great.

I’ve had some very good meals at Delmonico. Last one there not so much. I’d give it another go, though.

Last time we went to Emeril's, they didn't have the banana cream pie, we almost got up and left.

I do like the pecan crusted fish and it is still my favorite of the Emeril restaurants.

I've been loving Meril, especially when with a group of friends or suggesting a place to go to a group who aren't necessarily in to "fancy" places but want something good.

The prices aren't that bad at all honestly. The girlfriend and I usually get two or three small plates or a flatbread, a pasta, a meat, drinks, and desert and get out for around $100.

Emeril's is fantastic, and probably the most consistently great restaurant in NOLA.

Lots of conventioneers go there, so it is a bit of an afterthought for locals.

My 0.02.

Emeril's is still a really fun, vibrant dining option. A few months ago they rotated out David Slater onto the corporate side of the house and brought in a chef. Went shortly after the change and the food was just a little off, but it should be rolling now.

With the ambiance, wine, and pretty good food (which I do think is still well priced and portioned) its a good restaurant to have in the arsenal. Does a very good job with medium sized groups.

Compare the portion size of say the pasta you get at Meril vs the portion size & price you pay at Domenica & it’s pretty easy to see you’re being 1UP’d because of the Emeril name.

Hey it isn’t bad by any means. But when my 5’1” gf can eat the $15 serving of pasta in 4 bites, they are fisting you.

And I don’t care how fancy you make the description of shrimp tacos on the menu. 2 very small 4.5” tacos at $5 a piece is laughable. I don’t know when tacos became so expensive

ETA: I rarely ever complain about food prices but there is a point where I feel I get ripped off & Meril hit that nerve both times I’ve been

So what do all of you think of Emeril's?

I've never had a bad meal there but its not not new, its not trendy and thats what critics like. It either has to be new or old to be "interesting".

But every time I go its full and its mostly locals.

That's a very valid point.
