I noticed that Emeril's isn't getting much love from the NOLA food critics these days

Just reading online the lists of top New Orleans restaurants, I notice that Emeril's isn't on many of the lists.

Has it gone down hill? I've eaten there twice, once before Katrina and once after Katrina in 2006. I enjoyed both meals, but I realize a lot can change in 12 years. The Andouille Crusted Fish (I believe it was either red fish or drum) was outstanding. And their wine list, even just a year after Katrina, was impeccable.

So what do all of you think of Emeril's?

None of his restaurants are particularly great imo. Meril might be the best of em currently. They are all fine but not special.

Emerils the past two times was nothing special at all to me. Banana Cream pie is still legit as frick though

Emeril's is like Barry Bonds back in his hey-day. He could have won the MVP every year, but people just kind of took him for granted.

Don't waste your time at Meril's. Small plates with an entree price tag. Very loud.

Rhetorical. Not going to change your mind but don’t agree, at all.

I know. I’ve seen your likes on here. We disagree a lot to say the least.

I think Emeril’s is boring and uninspired. It’s adequate but not worth the price. Imo.

There are significantly better restaurants at the same price point.

It’s not a bad restaurant. It’s just nothing special anymore.

You looking for one of those places that liquid nitrogen all their deserts? Emeril’s is very good and I’ve never been disappointed.

Oh ok, we are going there? You know what that’s fine.

But, you said Meril is, today, is his best resteraunt and in my mind your full of shite. That is what my comment is on, not now your far reach of every resteraunt in NOLA in your next post.

To be fair I haven’t been to Nola in probably 5-7 years. So I can’t comment on that. Meril is pretty good. Nothing special either.

I just have never felt much for any of his restaurants. Never had a meal at any of them that I thought “wow what a meal”.
